How to slice cake the right way
If you have a sweet tooth, then chocolate cake is probably one of your favorite desserts to eat. But did you know that you’ve been cutting that perfectly round-shaped cake wrong your whole life? Not taking my word for it? Here is a scientific and mathematical way of cake cutting which dated back in the ancient times.
According to Alex Bellos, a London-based mathematician, slicing a cake the right way involves parallel lines and rubber bands. How to slice a cake the right way? Just follow the steps below:
Step 1:
Create two parallel slices at the center of the cake using a cake slicer. This is totally different to the triangular shape that we used to do on our cakes.
Step 2:
Remove that piece of cake you’ve just sliced in the middle. After that, you will have a narrow space in between. What you need to do is to bring the cake back together to form a round shape again. This will close the sliced part of the cake, retaining its moisture and softness. So, the following day, the cake still tastes great.
Step 3:
Put a rubber band around the cake to secure its form. This will ensure that no oxygen can get pass through the center of the cake where you have just removed a slice.
Step 4:
Create another two parallel lines at the center of the cake. This time, the parallel lines should be perpendicular to the lines you made in the first step. Then bring back the cake together and secure it with a rubber band.
